I’m the most perfect leader the world ever had. It’s true .. it’s true … trust me
Could the second series be more compelling than the first?
How I delight at the increasing number of indictments against Trump and his cronies. Some charges might actually stick and we could finally see him convicted in a criminal court.
I read the 45 page indictment from Special Counsel Jack Smith. A great piece of work which fully reveals Trump’s can of worms. It could be a best-seller, but today I woke to find the State of Georgia was competing for the same best-seller slot: 98 pages of charges on 41 accounts, alleging a criminal enterprise led by Trump.
In 2020 and 2021 we all saw Trump’s antics playing out on our newspapers and screens. It was like watching a slow-burn Netflix series. Now in series 2, might we see Trump eating porridge in clink? Oh, I do hope so. But, being realistic, we all know he’d get a full pardon from the next Republican president (presuming the Republicans remain a viable political party after all this).
I made a drawing in April 2020 when Trump was starting his 4th year in kindergarten office, when his gross incompetence was running at an all time high, and traditional Western allies looked on in stunned horror. I titled the drawing “I’m the most perfect leader the world ever had. It’s true .. it’s true … trust me".

The image of Abraham Lincoln looks down at Trump from his grand marble chair. Trump dances around on his fragile office chair (as spoilt little babies do), shouting and pontificating, breaking traditional norms and boundaries. But the wheels were clearly coming off and, as we know, they eventually did.
The U.S people built a most awesome and beautiful temple to the memory of Abraham Lincoln: a great man who defended democracy. I hope they build an equally awesome, beautiful and fitting chamber for Trump.
It’s Ferragosto today in Italy, a national holiday granted to all workers by Emperor Augustus some 2,000 years ago. In reality, Italy shuts down for most of August as the citizenry take to heart the concept of maximum enjoyment and relaxation. So, in embracing that same principle, I’ll end this news-blog here. I’ve got 98 pages to read and enjoy.
